Canada’s 2026 weekly earnings: how to use the CAD 1,347.14 figure

A national mean provides context, rather than an occupation salary, city estimate or expected offer.

Canada

Check the coverage first

Statistics Canada’s 24 September release reports preliminary July average weekly earnings of CAD 1,347.14. This seasonally adjusted gross mean includes overtime and covers full-time and part-time payroll employees.

Do not substitute it for occupation medians

It is not a nurse, chef or developer median. Job Bank figures retain their own NOC, national or regional coverage, unit and reference period. They cannot all be relabelled as 2026 occupation salaries.

Use it in a practical plan

Compare your target role, province and actual offer, then build a budget from take-home income and housing costs. Keep the original unit and assumptions when converting weekly figures to monthly averages; treat bonuses and benefits separately.
